Hey everyone! How's it going?
This week was a very crazy week, getting everything ready for Melchizedek's baptism was really busy but we got it all worked out.
I guess a pretty big change went out this week in the world of the church, missionaries are now required to teach Lesson 5 to all investigators before baptism. Lesson 5 used to just be the post baptism lessons, but now the first presidency wants them taught before! So we had to hurry and fit that lesson in there for Melchizedek. But it all worked out well!
Here's the crazy awesome story of the week. We went to have Melchizedek try on the baptismal jumpsuit we had picked up for him, thinking it would be perfect size. But it actually was just a bit too small and he couldn't zip the thing up! So the temple is closed for this week and next week, so we couldn't go see if they had another one. We're like SHOOT. What're we gonna do?! So guess what, we ended up going to Walmart. Buying a BIG white cloth, that may or may not have been a bed sheet, we cut a hole for his head in it like a poncho, and we tied it around him with some white rope. We just baptized a man with a bed sheet. That's one for the books ladies and gentlemen. We called our mission president about it and he basically said, just do whatever you need to. I'll reimburse anything you need to buy. We got it. If anybody else has ever done that same thing i'd love to hear from them! haha
Other than that, we had another great appointment with Tish, she's progressing really well. We taught the restoration and she is like "woah, this actually all makes a ton of sense!" we're like, that's what we're saying!! Haha, unfortunately she wasn't able to make it to church, but she should be there soon.
Jeff is still doing great, he is actually sitting right next to me while I type this. Jeff is so sweet.
Oh! We also did the Haitian sacrament meeting again yezsterday, if you remember last time we had a astounding 3 people there. This time we had a whole 20 people there!!! Everyone was really excited, supposedly next month is our shot to get it bumped up to every week! Exciting stuff.
Sorry about the short email, it was a hectic week but nothing much else happened.
Have a great week!
