Sticking around for another in Brockton!

Hey everyone!

This week was transfers, I am staying for at least another 6 weeks here in Brockton with Elder Hodapp.

In our district, we have 2 going home (Sister Harris and Elder Jensen) and one that was transferred (Sister Harris) Yes, we had 2 Sister Harris's! But It'll be strange, we'll have 3 brand new missionaries in the district, everyone's companionship changed except for Elder Hodapp and I. 

So let's start off with a funny story

Homeless Lady: Hey you have any spare change??

Elder Hodapp: Well, I found a penny on the ground a minute ago... you're welcome to have it!

Homeless Lady: WHAT?! You freaking kidding me? You don't talk to me like that. I am STILL a lady you know. 

Elder Hodapp: ....But that's all I have....

Homeless Lady: You seriously can't spare a buck? 

Us: No.... not really :( 

Homeless Lady: Ugh!! 

Then she stormed off all upset and what not.... What the? Hahah! Some people!

Shortly thereafter, we tried contacting a referral from the sisters, we showed up and all we had was the apartment complex's address. No apartment number or anything. So we're like, well shoot! So we sat on the porch and some guy came and let us into the complex and just said "Go knock doors until you find them!!" The moment we went in, we knew something was up. We walk up the stairs and all you can smell is quite the variety of illegal drugs. The walls are packed with mold, all of the smoke detectors are broken, etc. We got outta there really quick right after we saw some of the people that live there, their minds were gone. It was a little intense! Pretty sure we just found something you could refer to as a "Heroin house". Brockton is scary yo!

This week has been a lot more walking, probably more than the last week! Our legs are getting jacked. 

We taught Jeff a few more times, he was interviewed and deemed worthy to be baptized! He will be baptized next Sunday at around 1pm. It's been such an awesome testimony building experience seeing the atonement just work wonders in his life. He's a completely different person than the one we met about 6 weeks ago. Really amazing. 

Other than that, we've just been teaching as much as we can! Trying to find some new investigators seeing as how we've baptized our 2 most promising ones! Speaking of that, Melchizedek did receive the Aaronic priesthood this past Sunday and was ordained to the office of a Priest! He was really excited about it.  

So hopefully we'll be getting a car this Wednesday! That's the plan at least. This upcoming transfer should be really good, we'll be plenty busy!
