GOOOOD MORNING
We are doing incredibly well here in the little state of Massachusetts.
We finally got a car this week, it's a little Ford Fusion. It's pretty nice! We're loving it, especially the AC part.... haha
But, with the car. We've had some CRAZY days here now. Because we can just go from appointment to appointment we just had some days that were STACKED. Like 8 appointments in 1 day including helping someone move in and a correlation meeting with the ward mission leader. It was nuts.
But let's see. We picked up a new investigator this week. His name is Prince. He requested a free Bible using Mormon.org and we couldn't ever get to his place to give it to him because we didn't have a car! So we zipped over there, and we're like "Hey, you see the Bible? Check this book out too." And we stuck some Book of Mormon action into his hands. And he's like wait, what is this? We said we'd come back and explain everything. We ran a restoration lesson with a member named Brother Labrum, with him and we cleared up a bunch of his confusions about the church. For example, he told us he thought we prayed to Mormon and we worship Joseph Smith... So now he's super interested. He told us he plans on coming to church soon. Brother Labrum was an excellent member to bring, he explained everything whenever Prince had a question or concern.
Next up. We are teaching a Haitian investigator named Naomi 3 times a week now. She's got a similar story to Jeff, grew up in the hood and now she wants to change. Get square with the guy upstairs. So we've been teaching her a bunch, we invited her to church, and she came, she hit it off really well with some ladies in the Relief Society and she said "Oh my goodness. I love it here. I plan on coming back and I plan on getting baptized soon." It was a miracle. We're so happy for her and we can't wait to see where this gospel will take her!!
So remember how we're building the Haitian group here in Brockton? And if you remember, last month we had nearly 20 people and we thought it was a MIRACLE. We were so excited. Well this past week, we did nearly everything we could've to make sure this group succeeded. When the bishop asked us how many people we thought would come we told him hopefully 30 if everything goes well. So we get to 9:30, when it starts. There is 1 lady there besides us and the bishop. We get to 9:40. There are about 6 people there in total. Every 10 minutes after that, groups after groups of Haitians kept flooding into the room. Not 20 Haitians, not 30 Haitians, not even just 40 Haitians. But OVER FIFTY(50) Haitians came to the group yesterday. It was INSANE!!!! So now we're really hoping they will change it to a weekly thing. It's still on the fence which drives me insane.
"So my favorite experience on the mission so far would definitely have to be finding, teaching, and baptizing jeff. Jeff's baptism yesterday was SO special. He was so happy, he's just walking around after saying "Guys!! I can't stop smiling!!" Right after he came out of the water he just said ".....awesome...." and then he hugged the guy that baptized him, Bro. Lopes. Jeff has changed completely. The first time he came to church he was in a bright green t-shirt that said "I got lucky at Lucky's bar", raggedy old jeans and a bandana on his head. Little bit by little bit, it changed. And out of nowhere, he showed up to church yesterday in a white shirt, tie, dress slacks and shoes. Ready to go. He bore his testimony after the baptism, it's just been amazing to be a tool in the lords hand's for this whole experience!!"
- I just stole this from the email I wrote my mom, responding to my favorite mission experience. So yes, this accurately describes Jeff's progress and his baptism.

So yeah, we're just on cloud 9 right now. The work is going incredibly well and I wish I had it in me to write more, but we do have a bunch of people with 1st and 2nd appointments this week that want to get baptized, so i'll keep you posted on those people... :)
