Boston Life!!

Hello! Kijan w ye la? Mwen te vreman sonje Kreyol la pandan manman m t'ap vizite Ayiti....

So it's official. We got a bit more snow last night, and we have officially been a part of the WORST WINTER ON RECORD IN BOSTON, MA. It's been a cold one everyone. But we did it. 104" of snow in the city. That's a bit. But hey, we've had some great temps this week, and a bunch of the snow melted! Spring should be here soon!

So how's everyone doing? It feels like just yesterday that it was P day... this week went by SO FAST. But it makes sense, we actually accomplished quite a bit. So that's really fun.

This week we drove all over the mission, and even got to ride the ferry out to one of the islands to visit some sisters! It was awesome. 

Here's where we visited this week:

Plymouth - Elder Jones and Elder Goncalves - they are already established extenders and they are doing SO well. We went through their teaching pool with them and they have some super solid people they're skyping with at the moment. It was fun to see all of the hard work they're putting in! They also just went from being the Plymouth Branch to being the Plymouth Ward! They're killing it in the physical area as well. Great guys!

Southcoast area, MA - Elder MacJanet (I came out with him!) and Elder Gunnell (Who actually used to be in Liberia before his mission was shut down because of Ebola, crazy.) Sister Melo and Sister Shields. It was great, they are going to be an awesome group of digital missionaries. We also stayed the night at the Elders place, and went out to Olive Garden with them. Super fun visit! 

Martha's Vineyard, MA - It was cool riding a ferry! It's almost like an airplane inside, except you can just roam around and do whatever you like during the 45 minute ride across the ocean. So sick. We visited Sister Miller and Sister Redden. They're doing super great as well, they have a couple of baptismal dates in Kenya, and they had a lady go to church for the first time yesterday and she loved it. The digital mission is so awesome!

Newport, RI - Elder Lee and Elder Weber - Elder Lee (not the one I was companions with) was extending in his last area, but Elder Weber is new to it! So we went over the basics for Elder Weber and then did a bit of reviewing their teaching pool (which was filled with people from Elder Lee's last area). It was awesome! We also got to drive over the Newport bridge, which is over 2 miles long! It was sweet!

Hartford, CT - This was actually a sad story. We had set up to go visit the Elders in Hartford and the Sisters in Canton, CT. Google maps said it'd take about 2 hours to drive there, so we set up an appointment for 3:30pm and left at about 1pm thinking we'd be just fine! Well, somehow it took us FOUR HOURS to drive there. So we arrived when we were supposed to be finished with their training. We felt super bad. So essentially, we gave them their webcam and drove back. Talk about a boring day.... So we rescheduled and we're going to visit them again this week and actually train them. And trust us, we planned to leave super early this time!

Other than that, I have had my technological skillz put to the test this week. We're trying to set up a new online system for reporting and keeping track of investigators, building databases, and setting up a website... and guess who gets to do it all by hand? So this probably doesn't mean much to anyone, but I know how to remotely install web apps on servers now. I'm such a nerd. Ha, but hey it's coming in handy! #BuildingTheKingdom #Online
