So this week was incredibly exciting. Like seriously, best week in a good amount of time.
Nadia's Baptism
If you remember, Elder Vecchi and I found a lady named Nadia at an Indian food restaurant that we couldn't even explain why we were in there. Shortly after finding her, we passed her off to the sisters that covered the ward she would attend. Well, since then, she has made some incredible progress. She was baptized yesterday, and her baptism was SO powerful. She had all of her non-member friends there supporting her, which is unheard of in New England. She was baptized by the senior missionary that covers her ward, they have a very close relationship which is awesome. She invited us Elder Vecchi and I to participate in her confirmation. It was really just a special time here in the mission. It's been really really fun to watch her change from when we found her, to her being taught, until now. She got up and bore her testimony at the end, and with powerful words and tears in her eyes testified of the truthfulness of this church. We were very humbled.
Chuck
About a week ago, one of the members of the singles ward here popped into the fishbowl to say hi. She introduces us to her boyfriend, Chuck, and says they just got done with an activity for the night. And says "you know, I am going to teach Chuck the Restoration real quick, want to join?" WHO SAYS NO TO THAT? NOBODY! So of course we joined, and Chuck was definitely touched by the spirit. He seemed to understand what was being taught well. We gave him his own copy of the Book of Mormon and the Bible and invited him to read 3 Nephi 11. It was through his reading that he was able to really feel the spirit! We met up again on Tuesday, and he explained that he had some really deep personal spiritual experiences while reading. We taught a bit about recognizing the Holy Spirit and actually set a baptismal date with him for May 17th. Chuck came to church yesterday, he loved it, and we're meeting again tomorrow.
How cool is that? Miracles are all over the place!!
Patriot's Day
Now we've just had an awesome P day today. We started off by waking up at 3am this morning to go watch a reenactment of the battle at Lexington & Concord. It was awesome! They read the story and showed how we were standing at the very place the Revolutionary war started. Might be a bit disrespectful, but my favorite part of the reenactment was during the battle someone shouted "Hey!! Is that Tom Brady out there??" Everyone about died laughing, but I guess that's how things are at 4am.
There was a very nice family that fed about 100 people breakfast after the show. It was so generous of them, and it was delicious!
After, we came back to the chapel, I took a nap, and we got ready to head to Fenway for the Red Sox game. We looked into buying tickets online, but the cheapest they had were $55. So we said, "Hey, why don't we just try our hand at scalping?". We walked around for a bit, and at the bottom of the first inning we bartered a guy down from $55 a ticket to $30 a ticket for 5 tickets right by home plate. We had a blast! Even though the game got rained out halfway through, the Sox were up 7-1 when they cancelled the game. Take that Baltimore. :P
After the game, we walked back to the train and grabbed some dinner. Now we're here. What a P day!
