Good morning everyone!
This week has been crazy.
We've seen SO MUCH progress from our investigator, his name is Melchizedek. He is the one that referred himself on Mormon.org. He's keeping commitments, he came to church yesterday (and loved it) and he's really doing everything he can to learn more. He told us he was just reading talks on LDS.org in his spare time. (WHO DOES THAT??? NOT EVEN SOME MEMBERS DO THAT...) Ahh, we're so excited. I believe we're going to invite him to be baptized tonight, so send some prayers our way if you can.
We helped this Haitian guy named Etzure paint his house this week, that was pretty fun. He's still not down to hear the message, but he'll at least talk to us now. So that's good! Haha
We had a lot of dinners with members, which was a lifesaver. More on that, we weren't able to go grocery shopping this past week because Elder Hodapp was out of money and we ran out of time. So we just prayed for members to give us food. We were doing well, we had a dinner every day but Tuesday and Thursday I believe. Thursday, we had walked about 15 miles that day and we were STARVING. No food at the house, nothing as far as dinner appointments go. Then a member calls us up, and was like... "Hey Elders! You guys are coming over for dinner tonight, right?!" we're just like "yes. yes we are." I don't know how it happened. But it was amazing. and miraculous. Miracles.
Lots of footwork this week. We invited EVERYONE to come to our first Haitian sacrament meeting. In the last 2 weeks, we've probably walked/biked over 100 miles. So we've been really tired. But, we had the sacrament meeting. We had 3 people show up. We were just stoked to have it at all!
