Roller Coaster Week!!

Well. When you hear the title "Roller Coaster Week" either you think Elder Halling is disobedient and rode roller coasters all week or it had it's ups and downs. Luckily I am still being obedient, but yes this week had so much awesome stuff and some absolutely terrible stuff. We'll jump into it!

1st High Point:

We gave a man a priesthood blessing. Rick is a hardcore catholic, he and his family go to church every week, multiple times a week. They had crosses all over their house, holy water by the door, all that stuff. Now you may ask, now how did you get him to agree to a blessing? So you see, this man has cancer. He has a friend in Utah that suggested he get into contact with the Elders here for a blessing, well he did that. And he very nicely let us in and he and his whole family were really appreciative. We explained the nature of a blessing and then blessed him and his entire family. Everyone was in tears and the spirit was very strong in the room. Really cool experience.

2nd High Point:

I went on exchanges with Elder Annofils this week, he's my Zone Leader. Elder Annofils is actually from Haiti and we had a fantastic day talking about the country the entire time!! We taught a bunch of really cool people, I went down to his zone for the exchange and he's in the South Coast area, it's BEAUTIFUL.  So green, we went to a town called Lakeview, MA and the entire city is within 5 minutes of an awesome lake, many of the houses are right on the shore! Just like Scofield except the houses probably costed 500x more...

3rd High Point:

We were given a media referral to go visit, a man referred himself on Mormon.org for a missionary visit. Now let me just tell you, this man is prepared. Right as we walked in he told us that he knows that the Book of Mormon is the word of god, and he doesn't doubt it's truthfulness at all. We taught the restoration of the gospel and it was awesome. He's a really cool guy, he has a bunch of medals from the army that he wanted to show us. Really awesome stuff.

4th High Point:

JEFFEREY R. HOLLAND

We got to hear from an apostle of the lord for about 3 hours. It was INCREDIBLE!! He shook all of our hands and right afterwards he explained that since we didn't have time to do personal 1 on 1 interviews he just looked into our eyes while we shook hands... He's like "It makes me happy almost all of you are obedient and are trying your best, because then we can actually talk about the good stuff today." He had so many good things to say about our mission and it was incredible!

He talked a lot about how we need to go where our investigator is, figure out their needs and go get them. We can't expect them to come to us, we just need to work with them and help them on the right path. And at the same time, we've gotta realize that we're on the same path as our investigators. Except god is our teacher. It's time for us to pray a little better, study a little harder, make more sacrifices. ETC. Just like we're asking of our investigators. Really good, humbling experience. I loved every minute of it.

My great Aunt and Uncle ..... Elder and Sister Pack are serving on the Yale campus which is part of the Boston Mission. 

Lowest point.

We had a less active we were working with completely drop us. She sent us a text saying she needs to go back to the Baptist church and she doesn't want us to call her, text her, or pass by ever again. (we nearly had her back!) We don't know for sure what happened, but we're pretty sure her son has a lot to do with it. Super sad.

2nd Lowest. 

We walked about 6 miles to an appointment, she cancelled. Really sad. :(

But we push through it. :)

We have another appointment with the golden referral tonight, we're really excited!!
