Elder AJ Halling Boston Massachusetts Mission: The first snowfall accompanied by a spiritual drenching!!

Like the title said, it snowed for the first time yesterday. It wasn't much and none of it stuck, but walking around in the cold is something I definitely didn't miss. But the work of the Lord must go forth! :)

Fall colors and sunsets!!

This week was a little bit crazy. I will start off with our Investigator, Esaie. Sadly, his mom isn't going to let him be baptized at the moment. We are going to continue to work with him, make sure that we teach his mom. Then they could just be baptized together! :)

After that, we taught a handful of lessons this week that just absolutely flopped. One investigator turned down an invitation to baptism. The excuse was quite disappointing. After that we were teaching the 3 ladies we found last week, and basically... another friend completely ruined the lesson! We were just teaching about the plan of salvation... she tried to argue that you don't need to be baptized at all to be saved. Got up and started yelling and everything. We stopped the lesson, said "look, you just made the spirit leave. We're going to be leaving, next week we hope that we can have a more respectful lesson." They quieted down, we said a prayer and we left. Disappointing really. Our investigators are so solid. Just not their friends. Haha.

We taught Manoushka and Jadayah again on Sunday, they are still as smart as ever! They should be getting baptized in a few weeks from now.

Thursday we had a General Authority come to the mission, Elder Lawrence from the 2nd Quorum of the 70. It was fantastic, he taught all about exercising our faith. He also tied it into the mission's goals right now. We currently have 110 baptism dates for the month of November, which is the highest the mission has ever had on record. The goal of the mission is to Baptize at least 70 of those people who have a date currently. The mission is doing incredibly awesome things at the moment!! So he tied exercising your faith into us putting faith into our goal. The mission as a whole is so excited at the moment.

Friday was Halloween, we needed to be in by 6pm. People in Massachusetts get freaky on Halloween. But we dropped by the SouthCoast Elder's apartment at 6, and stayed in playing board and card games until we needed to go home. It was awesome, their apartment has this really nice community room, I'll send pics.

We started exchanges after that, with our zone leaders. Elder Santiago (also a haitian speaking missionary) came to Brockton with me! We had a great exchange, he is an awesome guy.

I think that is about it. Our sacrament meeting attendance was 22 yesterday, it was lower due to the snow. But it was still good. We had a guy visiting us from Okai, Haiti. It was fantastic!!
